Iceland can be a leader on this journey, both because of the large role that Icelandic ingenuity plays in the struggle, which is much larger than one might expect from the size of the nation, and as an important model for other countries. Important technological solutions in the field of climate issues have been created in Iceland, and we can expect even more.
To achieve such goals and have a positive impact, we must work together. Never before has access to funding for green projects been so easy, whether in this country or from abroad, and therefore it is important to work to connect relevant parties and direct good ideas in the right direction, but that was precisely the goal of the event.
About 120 attended and over 100 meetings, at a so-called grant meeting, were booked. It is clear that this day resulted in green connections across the board.
Harpa Júlíusdóttir, Festa's project manager, said a few encouraging words at the beginning of the meeting:
„Það hefur aldrei verið jafn mikið fjármagn um allan heim sem er að leita af grænum verkefnum og grænum rekstri, hvort sem það er í hinu opinbera styrktarumhverfi eða fjárfestingarsjóðum og það á bara eftir að aukast með þeim lagabreytingum sem liggja fyrir, þar sem grænn rekstur og græn verkefni munu komast stigi ofar þegar kemur að fjármagni og fjármörgnun.
