Today, the government's task force on the United Nations Global Goals released a toolkit on business implementation of the goals. The toolkit is intended to guide companies on how they can contribute to the global goals, but earlier this year the project management issued a similar toolkit for local authorities.

"The SDGs are an important guide to achieving social, climate and economic goals. However, we need tools and equipment to be able to follow this guide, and the toolkit makes those tools and equipment available to the business community in the country," says Prime Minister Katrín Jakobsdóttir.

The toolkit provides guidance to companies on how they can contribute to the Global Goals by aligning their operations, programs and performance measures to the goals. It is based on foreign models as well as examples from Iceland, and at that time Festa, a center for social responsibility and sustainability, was also in the hands of a consultant on substantive content.

"The release of the toolkit comes at a critical juncture. The goals will not be achieved without the involvement of the business world and effective cooperation between different parties in the market, as well as the public and private sectors. The companies that have already implemented the global goals into their operations know firsthand how that work results in good morale and better operations. For those companies that are starting their journey, this toolbox is a unique encouragement and an accessible guide," says Hrund Gunnsteinsdóttir, Festa's managing director.

The toolkit can be accessed on the World Goals website,

"The Global Goals are an important guide to achieving social, climate and economic goals."

We at Festa are extremely proud of this collaboration with the government's Project Board on the Global Goals. The toolkit is prepared by one of the country's most experienced advisers in the field of global goals and sustainability, Fanneyja Karlsdóttir, who is also the former chairman of Festa.

The toolkit will be available on Festa's Guide and in the section of our website dedicated to the global goals.

"For those companies just starting their journey, this toolkit is a unique source of inspiration and an accessible guide"
