"Is it worth it?" - sustainability legislation - challenges and lessons learned

Stórar innleiðingar eru framundan hjá íslenskum fyrirtækjum þegar kemur að sjálfbærnireglugerðum. Þetta hefur verið mikið í deiglunni hjá Festu samfélaginu undanfarin misseri og veitir því ekki af því að kafa enn frekar ofan í þessi mál á rafrænum Deiglufundi 31. október sem faghópur um sjálfbæra þróun hjá Stjórnvísi og Festa halda saman.

We've got a few veterans with us to share their experiences with the implementation and discuss the main challenges.

The regulations in question are:

  • Lög 25/2023 um upplýsingagjöf um sjálfbærni á sviði fjármálaþjónustu og flokkunarkerfi fyrir sjálfbærar fjárfestingar. Tóku gildi 1. júní

Regulation EU/2019/2088 SFDR (Sustainable Financial Disclosure Regulation) concerning entities on the financial market (applies to banks, mutual funds, pension funds and insurance companies)

Regulation EU/2020/852 EU Taxonomy - the EU classification system for sustainable investments that defines what is considered environmentally sustainable business activities.

Law on Sustainability Disclosure for Large and/or Listed Companies (CSRD). See Festa's sustainability guidelines

Elva Rakel Jónsdóttir, chief executive of Festa, will be the moderator and Tómas N. Möller, chairman of Festa and chief legal officer of the Merchants' Pension Fund, will open the event.

The trial balls in the implementation process will be Eiríkur Hjálmarsson, OR's sustainability manager, Agla Huld Þórarinsdóttir, Eimskip's sustainability expert and Kristrún Tinna Gunnarsdóttir, Íslandsbanki's sustainability manager.

Þetta verður praktískur fundur. Við ætlum við að fara yfir stöðuna, spyrja spurninga og reyna svara því hvort að þetta sé þess virði.

We look forward to welcoming you at the screen!

[14:12] Harpa Júlíusdóttir

The meeting is open to members of Stýrnvísi and members of Festa, and registration takes place on the website of Stýrnvísi.
